Charlotte Jesse

Charlotte Jesse is a self-proclaimed "horse girl," a University of California, Davis graduate, and a dedicated explorer of hands-on artistic pursuits. She found her way into taxidermy through a love of the natural world, dusty museum exhibits, and *admittedly* a questionable freezer situation. A lifelong fascination with skeletal forms and dusty museum displays soon evolved into a commitment to honoring the natural world through preservation and artistry.

Charlotte has trained under renowned taxidermists Allis Markham of Prey Taxidermy and Paloma Strong of Strong Taxidermy. She has worked to develop a style that blends scientific accuracy with sculptural craft, leaning on her history of textile arts and design. Each piece she creates is part science, part craftsmanship, and part storytelling.

When she’s not in the studio, Charlotte can usually be found haunting antique stores, researching the curious and macabre, or spending time with her horse.
