*All specimens died naturally at aviaries and are legal to possess in the US. If you are interested in mammals or a bird species not listed, please email your desired species, and we may be able to source one for you.

  • We are able to source certain specimens/species for private commissions at an additional cost.

Please note that unless you are affiliated with an educational institution with proper permits, we are not able to work on US native birds as they are federally protected and not for personal possession.

  • We can create a number of desired bases for your piece. Please let us know what type of base you are looking for (wooden plaque, wall mount, glass dome, etc.). If you have photo examples, you can attach them to an email.

We are able to hire a vendor for custom creations.

  • Taxidermy requires working with specimens that died of natural causes - we only work on salvaged specimens from aviaries, zoos, and pet store deaths. They may not have died in “perfect” condition. Let us know what your desired pose is, and we will do our best to match it, but we will reach out if there are any issues with the specimen that would limit our ability to perfectly match your desired pose.

Please note that the pose may affect pricing.

  • Our general timeline for commissions is between 6 months and 1.5 years, depending on how complex the project is. Anything less than 6 months may not be achievable or require “rush” pricing. Once a project is discussed, we can give you an accurate timeline for project completion.

All taxidermy commissions start at $1,400, but will depend on the desired species, pose, and base. If you are interested in commissioning a study skin, the commission starts at $300. Once a project is discussed, we will send an estimate.

We are willing to work with flexible payment schedules.

  • I do require that all clients sign a Service Agreement before work begins. Please take a moment to review my Service Agreement here.

While it contains a fair amount of information and legal language, the agreement is designed to ensure clear communication regarding project scope, pricing adjustments, timelines, and the unique nature of taxidermy work. Many of these terms are included to protect both the client and Strong Taxidermy in unlikely worst-case scenarios. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
