From the Field Notes series, this shadow box showcases a budgerigar (Melopsittacus undulatus) amongst many similar color elements: Weevil beetle (Pachyrhynchus reticulatus), White-banded cerulean (Jamides aleuas), Blue weevil (Eupholus linnei), & Peach-faced lovebird feathers (Agapornis roseicollis). This particular display is meant to look at all the different coloration possibilities that come from the budgerigar bird: from the soft white to the ethereal teal, budgies have a stunning and complex range of colors that can be seen in other creatures across the tree of life.

Every arrangement and display from the Field Notes series was sourced, preserved, and arranged with thought and care to capture the essence of exploration and curiosity about the modern world.
