Cicada Display

$185.00

From the Field Notes series, this shadow box showcases a Clearwing emperor cicada (Pomponia intermedia) & Red orange cicada (Angamiana floridula). These two cicada species are found in Southeast Asia and have distinct and beautiful morphology. These particular cicadas do not hibernate underground like cyclical cicada species; rather, they spend their time underground as nymphs tunneling and feeding.

Every arrangement and display from the Field Notes series was sourced, preserved, and arranged with thought and care to capture the essence of exploration and curiosity about the modern world. If you want to add a bit of natural history to your home, a piece from this series is perfect for you. This piece will function as a wall hanging or a table-top/shelf display.

This piece was created by Paloma Strong of Strong Taxidermy.
