From the Field Notes series, this shadow box showcases a Stag beetle (Cyclommatus metallifer), Green gold scarab beetle (Chrysina gloriosa), & Flower beetle (Pygora sp.). This simple display shows the incredible variation that is found in the order Coleoptera, the clade consisting of all of the beetles. This display shows a stag beetle known for its "antlers”, which are oversized mandibles; a scarab beetle, which has been a symbol in art and politics for centuries; and a flower beetle, which is an incredibly important pollinator in its ecosystem.
